Grant Approved

On February 27 the Gloucester Cemeteries Advisory Committee was notified of receiving a grant for Preservation Grants for Veterans’ Collection, Sites and Memorials. The grant funds will be used for headstone repair and restorations. A group of volunteers will clean and restore 31 veterans’ stones. We will have professionals repair 16 Revolutionary War and Civil War stones. These actions will take place in First Parish Burial Ground and Clark’s Cemetery. It will be an exciting time in the cemeteries this spring and summer.
