Joseph Green US Navy

A week or so ago Kathy was walking at the knotweed and spotted a tombstone with a flag fairly deep in the growth.  She kept cutting until she uncovered Joseph Green.  If anyone knows if Mr. Green has family in the area please let them know he is out in the open.  If the family would like to clean his marker we would be happy to help.

Joseph Green was a mulatto who was born in the West Indies.  He enlisted in the Navy in Boston in April of 1864. In 1910 he lived on Friend St. in Gloucester, MA. and was the proprietor of a repairing tailor store.  He married Lizzie S. Arndley in 1871.  He also married Rhoda F. Niley in 1895.
