Today I was chopping knotweed at the entrance to First Parish. I met a nice lady, a distant cousin of course. Anyone who descends from the old ones of Gloucester is a cousin. She was visiting from Ohio and was excited to see that she could get in and walk around the cemetery. She took pictures of Parsons’ tombstones…no shortage of Parsons. I took her on a tour and encouraged her to write to Gloucester City Council.
Found a hypodermic needle and piles of big dog poop. People seem to feel that the path through Clark’s Cemetery into and through First Parish has been cleaned up for their use. Maybe we could charge a toll.
