Springtime In The Cemetery

The Japanese Knotweed is starting to grow.  Well, it was off to Home Depot for a wireless weed whacker and a brush cutter attachment.  Felt like Tim “More Power” the Toolman with the power of a 40 volt battery and a steel blade whirling at the end of the shaft.   Grunt ~ Grunt!

We were both pleased that the party area next to the Grant monument did not show any evidence of fresh party trash left behind.

We are curious about a large burned area with several burnt logs just over the rock wall next to the burn spot.  Wondering if it was a permitted burn.

It feels good to be back to work in the cemeteries.  Some of the things we need to find out about are if Mr. Whittaker has developed a plan to remove and burn the Knotweed.  When is the ground penetrating radar workshop, and when can a wetlands survey be completed?  The most important needs are to find volunteers for the physical work that needs to be completed and financial donors to add to the money the Gloucester Cemetery Advisory Committee has generated.
